Celebrations in Lebanon, Tears in Israel

16 July, 2008 | Lebanon | By: Rami

Today is the big day. Lebanon finally got back its 5 prisoners from Israel including Samir Kuntar and 4 Hizbullah members Khodr Zeidan, Mohammed Srour, Hussein Sulaiman and Maher Kourani.

On the other hand, Israel also got back its 2 soldiers, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, from Hizbullah, but in a couple of black coffins. I really would like to see the look on their parents’ face when they saw the 2 coffins at Hizbullah personnels’ feet.

We have suffered a lot, I believe it is our turn now to see them crying over the dead bodies of their sons and soldiers.

However, Some people claim that Kuntar is a terrorist because he killed a 4 years old girl… Well, sometimes a photo is worth a 1000 words.

This clearly shows who’s the terrorist, no?

aie aie aie… I’m not sure how to feel about your post, you’ve kept it well balanced, at least for a Lebanese point of view. But above all, I love the fact that I haven’t figured out your local political affiliation…

Curious israeli here. Is it worth, in your opinion to go into a new war with Israel ? For shaba farm, or palestinian cause, or recon overflight humiliation, whatever ? Just want to understand your people better…

I do not htink that one wrong justifies another. Murder is murder and Kuntar should have been taken over by the Lebanese army and left to finish his sentence in a Lebanese jail. My opinion of Kuntar and Hizbollah is very clear and still unchanged, as days go by I grow less and less tolerant of the Hizb’s blatent disregard toward Lebanese authority (just look at the full army attire and even the cavalry). As for the 4 other Hezb prisoner I have one question to ask. If they were released before May 7th wouldn’t we have seen them in Beirut terrorising innocent Lebanese?

@ Jester: Thanks for your comment.

@ Serge: It’s interesting to see an israeli commenting here! I hope I won’t be considered a traitor for replying to you here!
Shabaa is our land, and it’s our right to get back with every possible way to us. Getting into a new war is one of our options, and we’re pretty sure we will defeat you and humiliate your government again.
Anyway, I don’t think you will ever understand us since no one has occupied your land before, simply because you have no land. You’re nothing more than invaders and occupiers.

@ Marillionlb: What Kuntar did was nothing more than an act of war against your enemy. It’s funny how everybody give importance to ONE dead Israeli 4 years old girl and disregard thousands of kids that have been killed by the Israelis over the past years.
Concerning the 4 other prisoners, yes you would have seen them in Beirut terrorising the not-so-innocent future movement militants.
