Lighting a candle for Ferrari!

I took this photo a while ago in “De Prague” at Hamra. I was just having fun doing some compositions with the candle in the frame.

Candle for Ferrari

However, after yesterday’s results in the first grand prix of the 2009 formula one season in Melbourne with Raikkonen finishing 16th and Massa 17th, I beleive I should light a candle for them! A BIG ONE!!

Footage of a car theft in Hadath

This is a video of a REAL car theft that has occurred on saturday morning, the thieves as you will see were acting so cool and appear to be professionals! It only took them 2 attempts to unlock and turn on the car. The whole thing was captured on some security camera installed by one of the street residents.

I found it weird when the video said the stolen car is a 1988 BMW 323. Correct me if I am wrong, but thieves usually target new cars, don’t you think this car might end up being used in a car bombing?

Earth Hour – Lebanon

vote-earth

On Saturday March 28th at 8:30PM the world will be voting earth by turning off the lights for one hours, the Earth Hour.

Some students from the Notre Dame University noticed that among the arab countries only Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates are contributing in the event. So they decided that Lebanon SHOULD take part in being earth responsible, therefore they created this facebook group, with the slogan “Chou Na2esna?” (”what’s requiring us to participate?”).

The answer to their slogan is simple, what’s missing is electricity in Lebanon! Thank’s to Électricité Du Liban, we are “voting earth” at least 3 hours a day (at least I do). Not to forget of course that some roads are always dark, and thus “voting earth” on a daily basis. Meen addna?

Anyway, I think the move is very symbolic and is not effective against global warming, people will forget about it very soon. If I were in the NDU students place, I would have redirected my efforts into convincing my university (or other organizations) to buy windmills, solar firms or whatever, in order to produce pollution-free energy and become a serisouly socially responsible organization.

Blog links all down!

I noticed today morning that all the blog links (posts, pages) are down, nothing is functioning except for the homepage… 🙁

It must be the result, of yesterday’s migration. I am currently following up on the issue with my webhost support.

Update: All is working great now!

On lowering the voting age to 18

18 years old “wazawiz” can now vote… plain stupid!

At the age of 18, students are merely wise enough to make a good choice about their major in the university, how do you expect them to make a “good” political choice?

Moreover, a lot of fights are erupting at some universities nowadays, especially in USJ Huvelin, but they’re never mentioned in the news. Imagine what would happen in the next election (2013) when students feel they have more “authority”.

Today’s downtime

+961 went down for more than 8 hours today because my host was migrating my account to a faster server. But for some reason they forgot to mention to me the IP address of the new server, so plus961.com ended up pointing to nowhere!

Anyway, the problem is now solved, DNS updated, and I’m back on track!

Funny FPM Calendar

With the elections around the corner, I think it’s the right time to start publishing some political posts, bas 3a zaw2eh 😉

There isn’t too much writing for the first post, I just found this photo on Facebook today showing a page in the Free Patriotic Movement calendar. Check which days have been marked in February!

fpm-calendar

Hiba Tawaji – Metl El Reeh

hiba-tawaji

Hiba Tawaji was a lead actress in “The Return of the Phoenix”, a historical epic musical play by Oussama Rahbani
created and written by Mansour Rahbani.

You probably know her from the LBCI ads for the play, she has a very beautiful voice and they used to play a piece of “Mitl El Reeh” each time they run the ad. Today I got the full version of the song from my friend so I thought of sharing it with you, worth posting!

Click here to download the song.

P.S: I removed the flash player because I have noticed it is causing an error in Internet Explorer 7.0 and below.
