F*** gas price

high-gas

The crude oil price has been falling below $70 in the last few days, but for some reason some genius here in Lebanon decided to increase it by 600 L.L today, and he has been doing so for the last month!!

Seriously man, whoever you are, prices reached more than 30,000L.L / 20 liters last year when crude oil price was skyrocketing with over $130 / barrel!! How come it is selling for half the price now, and you still insist on charging us 31,000 L.L for 20 liters of gas? From which university did you graduate?

If WE the Lebanese people believe that WE kicked Syria’s ass out of our borders by sitting in the Martyr’s square (denying that USA, KSA, and Egypt had something to do with it), then we of course can do some another sit-in to call for decreasing the gas price.

But NO! We don’t hit the streets unless some political monkey leader orders us to do it!

    🙂 sad but true.
It reminds me of the تحرّك we did against the extension of Emile Lahoud’s term back in 2004. There was a buzz around town, people started gathering in universities, tracts were being photocopied… and when the moment came we were about 20 people gathered next to Martyr’s square. Word came from the Maronite Patriarcat and the Bristol Gathering that it wasn’t the right time for that and we better go back home.
We stayed for about an hour. Passers by were quite sympathetic. Our number started dwindling, so we went back home.
Things were quite different on that famous night in february 2005 when we were thousands converging towards Martyr’s Square, backed by politicians, by religious leaders and protected by the army.

Deceiving? nah. Disappointing… always! it’s like a never ending limbo dance… every time I say “we’ve hit the bottom” I’m surprised to find out we can actually go lower.
