Belghalat – A Satire Musical by Michelle & Noel Keserwany

michelle and noel keserwany

The famous Michelle and Noel Keserwany are collaborating with M Media on a satirical musical called “Belghalat”. The project is made of four episodes each criticizing a certain side of life in Lebanon through their witty songs.

Judging by the songs they made so far like Jagal El Usek, 3al Jamal bi Wasat Beirut, and Zaffatleh El Tarik, I highly doubt the upcoming series will be any less better than the previous videos.

The first episode will go online on February 15th, but I have no idea if the subsequent ones will be posted on a daily or weekly basis. Anyway, for now you can watch this teaser that M Media posted today.

Like There is No Tomorrow – A 2D Animation by Marilyn Haddad

marilynhaddad

Marilyn Haddad is a 2D animation artist who recently graduated from Vancouver film school and is also a former ALBA student. She sent me this animation she recently did about a Lebanese girl who loves to dance to survive the stress that everybody faces here.

I thought of sharing it on the blog because I found the animation to be pretty impressive, and I hope we get to see more of her work.

Power of the tire in Lebanon

Awesome work!

Power of the tire is a satirical piece depicting the current political and economical situation in Lebanon. It is meant to be satirical and does not reflect a real situation, but a personal interpretation.

Regarding this piece, it all started after watching Buck’s Take part / waiting for superman trailer, which seemed to have the exact tone for what we wanted. Some of the copy was so good and served our message that we had to use it.
Regarding the visuals, buck’s piece (Jr Canest’s style) is a huge inspiration for experimenting and learning motion graphics. So the intro which is almost identical started as an exercise/study in smooth keyframing, and as the piece took shape, we decided to keep it and give a credit to Jr Canest’s inspiring work. You can also find below a list for our inspiration for this piece. Hope you enjoy it.
