You Now Need A Special Permit To Fly Your Drone in Lebanon

The Lebanese Army announced two days ago that from now on drone owners in Lebanon need to apply for a licence from the Air Force, and they have three months to comply with this requirements. Moreover, a special permit will be needed from the Army Guidance Office each time they want to fly these drones especially around military bases.

I’m not sure how serious is the army going to be about applying this new regulation since they issues a similar memo two years ago but few people seem to have complied with it.

Other countries such as UAE and Kuwait have implemented similar regulation and I believe it’s about time to regulate drone usage in Lebanon, not necessarily everywhere but at least around sensitive locations such as Beirut Airport since it is very close to residential areas and any drone there can disrupt the air traffic just like what happened in Dubai last October.

Happy Lebanese Army Day

For all the sacrifices the Lebanese army has made for us, it deserve much more than one day of commemoration every year. Better military equipments, be it from USA or Iran, and unconditional support from all the political parties are definitely the least our fellow troops should be granted. (And possibly less requests to make video clips)

The sorry state of Lebanon

The below video sums up pretty much the current situation in Lebanon. Slowly but surely, gunmen all over the country seem to gain more control on the ground, while the army is appearing weak and helpless.

Back when I wrote that the army should be firmer when dealing with these militias, everyone and their mothers started attacking me and called me ignorant, and I admitted back then that calling for bombing Ersal was too extreme from me. So I really want to know what do these people suggest to stop such groups from hijacking entire towns and areas whenever they please!

This is just sad

I just watched the most aweful thing about the clashes taking place in Tripoli right now, child fighters. The below video from LBC shows a 12 years old kid holding an AK-47 and admitting he’s participating in the fights to “protect” his neighborhood. Disguting!

One of the kids told LBCI that he is fighting to defend his region, adding that he knows how to use a weapon and shoot. The kid said that he will not go to school tomorrow unless things get back to normal in Tripoli.
