Joe Show’s Segment on Lebanon’s Freedom of Speech and Public Debt

Make sure to check Joe Show’s latest video on God’s Heaven as he speaks about our public debt and the recent arrests over free speech.

This isn’t the first time for him to talk about Lebanon with the last time being about the elections I think, but what puzzles me every time is the number of people defending their sect leaders in the comments like they’re just flawless.

Saad Hariri Miming Despacito

AYAM Serious” shared on Facebook & Instagram last night a funny video compilation of PM Saad Hariri miming Luis Fonsi’s Despacito and ended up getting a couple of interactions on insta from Hariri himself!

At a time when some politicians are filing lawsuits against TV stations, journalistsand the so called “Facebook activists”, it’s good to see others engaging in the online conversation about them even if it was a joke like the one above. They’re public figures at the end and people have the right to talk about them the way they want.

No matter what you hear about freedom of speech in Lebanon, truth is we have a long way to become like modern countries where media outlets butcher the politicians and hold them accountable for their actions and decisions without facing any legal troubles…

Joe Maalouf sues a Lebanese blogger

So much for calling his show “Enta Horr”! And I hope MTV Lebanon is aware of what this guy is doing!

After bashing Joe Maalouf for his show that caused pain, hardship and torture to 36 innocent Lebanese men, and suggesting rumors were floating that he might be a closeted gay man himself, the heroic freedom fighter with the show title “Enta Horr” (you are free) filed a lawsuit against this blog and several others. The legal proceedings went unbelievably fast (most definitely bribes + political corruption) and in a matter of days, we were being sought after by the Lebanese security apparatus (research-wise that is… who we are, what we do, etc.)

My favorite part was when someone representing him said “Joe Maalouf ma byontal” (Joe Maalouf is untouchable). That was when I felt disgust and pity to this hypocrite of a bigoted homophobe. He has a prime time show on TV that is supposed to protect individual rights, freedoms and freedom of expression. But, when folks express themselves freely, he does miracles to try and land them in jail.

You can check the whole story on Gino’s Blog.
