We’re at giveaway #8, and Tomatomatic is will be presenting two vouchers for two lucky winners (each voucher is valid for 2 pizzas). As you all know, Tomatomatic serves American style pizza and I personally have always been a fan of their mushroom and swiss specialty! The dough is thick and fluffy with a generous toppings, and their portions are usually fair at good prices.

To qualify for the draw, go to +961’s page on Facebook, look for the giveaway post and tag a friend you think would enjoy this giveaway with you. Two winners will be randomly chosen and announced tomorrow morning, and I will message them for instructions on how to claim the vouchers.

Society Bistro – French Cuisine at Extremely Affordable Prices

Society Bistro at Saifi Suites Hotel is a french restaurant that has been in business for several years but became a serious hot spot almost one year ago after dramatically reducing its menu prices. My friends kept trying to drag me there since last summer but I only managed to go for the first time two months ago and totally regretted not doing so earlier!

To begin with, the restaurant’s interior is pretty cool, the non-smoking section has a ceiling made of blown glass grapes while the smoking area is decorated with backlit cymbals. And to reserve a table you sometimes should place your booking weeks ahead especially if it’s on weekend since it’s always full. However, if you have no problem waiting then you can simply show up with no reservation at 9:30 or 10:00PM and wait a bit before you get seated.

The first thing that will strike when you go over Society’s menu is how low are the prices are compared to other places of the same level. We’re talking about $6-$10 salads, $10-$21 mains, and $4 desserts, and don’t let these prices fool you into thinking Society compromises portion size or quality, on the contrary their portions are pretty generous and I personally loved all the items I’ve tried so far with my favorite being the Black Angus Tenderloin.

I honestly suck at describing flavors so I won’t act all foodie on you and just leave you with these appetizing photos all courtesy of @vistasbyrony.

Bottom line, while it’s becoming normal for restaurants to charge $20 for a burger nowadays, Society Bistro is quite a gem! With a friendly staff and cool ambiance I highly recommend you go check it out if you haven’t done so already.

What’s Lebanese about these rolls?

We actually have sambousek, r2a2at, fatayer, and some others, but there’s definitely nothing Lebanese about these banana, peas and cheese stuffed rolls that are currently being offered by Domino’s Pizza India!

Pasta Di Casa Clemenceau

Pasta Di Casa has got to be one of the best restaurants I’ve been to over the past months, a true gem! Located at the end of Jounblat street in Clemenceau, the restaurant’s exterior doesn’t look pretty much appealing, but the inside is really nice, it has a quiet simple decoration with old family photos on the walls making it feel so cozy.

Upon receiving our order, a couple of appetizers and a main dish for each of us, were surprised by how generous their portions are, in fact 3 our of the 4 of us didn’t even finish their meals.

I personally had a half portion of lasagna and tasted a bit of one of their steaks (“coeur de filet” I think) and shrimp pasta, all of which were really really good.

A meal for two with soft drinks at Pasta Di Casa will probably cost you 50,000L.L or even less, and the place if definitely recommended.

Beware of explosive pizza

Sheikh Omar Bakri who currently lives somewhere in Tripoli, claimed a few days ago that Al-Qaeda are so clever that they can even make an explosive pizza!

“Al Qaeda are so clever, they can make so many weapons from nothing. They can go to any kitchen, make a very nice pizza bomb and deliver it fresh,” added Bakri. Source

Now we’ve got to be careful with pizza delivery boys!

New pizza joint in Beirut

Very close to Classic Burger Joint Sodeco you can spot this place that is currently under renovation with the word “PIZZA” written on the outside. According to the people at CBJ it should soon be opening as a pizza joint, having almost the same concept as CBJ and the same owner too.

I believe some people will shortly just follow and open similar joints somewhere else (Hamra?), just like every time something new is introduced in Lebanon. Anyway, let’s see how good they will be!
