LEGO Emoji Art in Beirut

Someone going by the handle “LemojiArt” on Instagram contacted me today to inform me about a visual project they’re working on which involves building LEGO Emojis (hence the word lemoji) and sticking them around Beirut. I can’t really explain the point of the project other than bringing a smile to passers by and I personally liked it.

Among the lemojis made so far my favorite is the one at Salim Salam tunnel since I get stuck there everyday! (I wouldn’t have noticed it by myself though if it wasn’t for the photo due to its small size)

I have no idea about the real identity of the artist as he/she prefered to remain anonymous, but all I know is that the project will not be limited to Beirut alone and will soon “invade” other cities, so stay tuned to LemojiArt.

The ISF can forever claim that they have their “own ways” to stop these stupid motorbikers. But in fact nothing is being done that even 12 years old kids now do wheelies on the streets!

Rima Najdi roams Beirut with a mock TNT bomb

1505103_10152160884050928_2139517365_n

Inspired by how our society is getting used to bombs going off and taking the lives of dozens of innocent people every now and then, a Lebanese performance artist called Rima Najdi decided to roam the streets of Beirut with a mock TNT bomb on her.

It may sound silly to some, but if you think about it, suicide bombers and booby trapped cars have passed by the streets just like Rima did, and could have taken anyone’s life with them. It’s like we’re literally living by chance these days!

Sursock

“كان شارع ذو طابع تراثي / Etait une rue à caractère traditionnel” Spotted in Sursock near St. Nicolas stairs.

With all the new buildings popping in the area, whoever altered the sign definitely nailed it!

Leil Nhar & Classic Burger Joint coming to Hamra

I was passing by Hamra yesterday and noticed that Leil Nhar and Classic Burger Joint will soon be opening at the end of the main street next to Pastai.

Leil Nhar is by the way replacing Burger Nation who’s service has deteriorated drastically in the last few months!

Footages of the internal security forces breaking into a BMW

An anonymous reader sent me these 2 videos showing members of the Lebanese internal security forces breaking into a BMW and driving it away to probably clear the street for a convoy or something…

Knowing that the authorities collect the phone number of all car owners in Lebanon, couldn’t they have looked up the owner’s phone number through his plate number and told him to just come and park it somewhere else? Or why not using a car carrier to move it away instead of breaking into it?

Also, notice how easy it is to steal a car, the whole thing doesn’t take more than a couple of minutes!

Pervert going online!

I was getting my daily dose of photography on flickr today when I stumbled upon this Lebanese pervert’s account.

The guy is using a Canon EOS 50D with zoom lenses, some photos are taken at 250mm, others at 400mm… so he does have some nice photography gear (like this one for example), which I honestly dream of having. However, he’s messed up enough to use such “classy” tools just to practice his perversion.

I hope someone busts him, shove his cam and lens up his rear-end, take a photo of it and post it on flickr!
