TSC Lebanon is Now Offering Children Free Fruits

In order to encourage children to eat healthy, TSC Lebanon just announced on their Facebook page today that they will start offering each kid one piece of fruit to snack on while shopping with their parents. And for that purpose, fruit baskets will be available at the entrance of both TSC Achrafieh and TSC Signature (Beirut Souks).

The initiative is certainly not new as I have lately read about the same moves made by grocery stores in the US and Europe, still you can’t but salute TSC for it.

As a parent, I always find myself buying my 2 year-old son some biscuits to keep him busy while my wife and I do our shopping, but a banana or an apple would definitely be better for him.

Let’s hope they extend this offer to their other branches in Zouk and Jnah as I know a lot of parents are going to appreciate it!

Beirut City Centre opening

Below are some photos I took at Beirut City Centre as I passed by it on my way back home tonight.

The first thing you’ll notice when going there is the traffic the mall is causing due to how narrow are the roads leading to its parking entrances. However, once you get inside you’ll have no problem finding a spot to park your car since the parking seemed pretty accommodating.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, a lot of shops are still not operating yet, but the open ones still offer a good variety. And I highly recommend you go check Carrefour for all the promotions they’re holding especially on some electronics.

Moreover, aside from the restaurants that will be available on the rooftop, there’s a spacious food court in the second floor offering a good variety from Lebanese to American, Italian, and Asian fast food.

Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit, if not for all the new brands it brings, then just for the sake of it being the new mall in town!

Boycott Spinneys?

Looks like there’s a campaign building up to boycott Spinneys because of treating their employees unfairly.

According to Abir Ghattas, Spinneys refused to abide by the government’s decision to increase wages, and went further by firing the employees who dared to voice their demands to the management by signing a petition.

Unfortunately, Spinneys is not the only firm who refused to give that increase to its employees, in fact many others also did the same, but luckily for them very few or even none of these cases made it to the media since these companies knew beforehand that their employees will prefer to keep their mouth shut than risking their job by making a trouble about the matter.

Anyway, now that the minister of labor is aware of the issue, let’s see if he will really have the guts to do something about it as promised!

Bull invades a supermarket in Dora

This bull escaped from Bouj Hammoud’s slaughterhouse and invaded a supermarket located in a gas station in Dora before getting stuck at the service area and die inside the pit!

It’s good no one got injured… I really wouldn’t like to be in the shoes of those who were inside the supermarket at that time!
