Lebanonizing the sushi experience

If you find the combination of Sushi and Arguileh to be appealing, then Republic in Zalka is probably the place for you.

I went there few days ago and was surprised to see that they have recently added a sushi section to their menu, meaning you can now enjoy having your sushi while puffing smoke rings! 😛

On a serious note, I’m not an Arguileh expert but my friends claim Republic has the best Arguileh in town.

Good for them! They must have seen how much people like sushi and jumped on the bandwagon. They have adapted! 🙂

    Appealing or appalling?

I thought it was sushi etiquette that smoke should not be around it!!

You are right this place is typically Lebanese, the manager think that he can take all the market share with his international formula [ Makhlouta] But he will lose it all in my opinion and keep his arguileh cause every cuisine need more stuff and special tools bigger kitchen and of course a quality control etc…Personally if I want to eat sushi I go to a sushi place where no belly dancer and of course No ARGUILEH.

Definitely, I personally think it was smart of them.

Welcome to Lebanon, where we can Lebanonize the sushi experience 😛

I highly doubt he’s targeting sushi lovers here… I also prefer to go to a real sushi place whenever I want to eat sushi.
But apparently, there’s a segment of people (Arguileh addicts) who will like the idea, and he’s satisfying their need!

Yeahh..I kind of like to enjoy my sushi in a smoke free environment. It may suit some people, but it doesn’t suit me!

I went there on my Christmas vacation to Leb, and guess what! It takes exactly 6 pieces of salmon sushi there (6 x 3$ = 18$) to get to the same price of an All You Can Eat Sushi place in Montreal. Lebanon has become insanely expensive!!
