1,000L.L DVDs in Beirut

I though I should share with you guys where I get my DVDs from after someone commented on the previous post that he never found them for less than 3,000L.L.

The place I go to is called “Serge” in Bourj Hammoud. Going from Achrafieh to Bouchrieh using the Yerevan bridge, you take the first exit on the bride, and you’ll find that DVD shop in a very narrow street to your right, situated just before the end of that exit. Serge’s collection is always up to date with a back room dedicated for old movies, and the best thing is that he’s always honest about the audio/video quality of any movie you’re buying.

I also heard there’s another place in Bourj Hammoud called “Rony” but I never knew where that one is…

Shops like Serge’s are almost everywhere in Beirut except that he just happens to be selling at a good price and that’s why I wrote about him. The people in charge are definitely not waiting for this post to identify these places…

I know you mean well, but it was thanks to the photos of a blogger depicting the blackout of Spielberg’s name on the movie posters at Cinemacity that got the US Embassy to react to it which ended up getting the massive press coverage it did.

Obviously there are hundreds of illegal DVD shops in Beirut. But Uncle Sam “is” watching!

It isn’t a very “legal” service or product you are promoting here, Rami, is it?

You might as well blog about where to find the cheapest Hash dealer in Beirut, who is even honest enough about the quality of the product he has on offer, and point out his location on google map 🙂

Rony’s is on the street parellel to serge’s from the offramp’s side. Except that his brother took over that place and Rony opened up another shop somewhere in achrafieh, although the burj hammoud place is stilll referred to as “Rony’s”. It’s always worth checking out both places because they’re a minute apart on foot.

I’ll assume you can figure your way to Sassine square in Achrafiyeh. From there, take the road leading you to Sayde Church (the one perpendicular to the street leading you to mar mitr), go all the way down the road until you reach a bridge, go over that bridge and then take the first exit on your right and Serge will then be in a narrow street to your right.
As Houry mentioned, Rony is in a parallel street, I suggest you ask about him when you reach there.
