  • TEDx Beirut Talks 2012

    If you missed TEDx Beirut’s event last November you can still watch the recorded talks as the organizers are currently gradually uploading them to the TEDx Talks channel on Youtube. Just make sure to follow this playlist that includes all the talks from Beirut. There are currently 7 videos by Suzanne Talhouk, Christopher Littlefield, Farid Chehab, Zeina Saab, Walkabout Drum Circle, Sareen Akarjalian, and Hani Asfour.

  • Ziad Rahbani in concert next week

    I was so glad to read that Ziad Rahbani will be performing in a concert next week as I’m a big fan of him. The concert will be held at a place called Event Hill near Le Royal Hotel on December 20th and 21st at 9PM.

    Tickets will be available as of Monday at Boueiry Press Kasklik, Maarouf Saad Center, and possibly at Al-Akhbar as mentioned in Elie’s post, and will be priced at $40, $50, and $60 including an open buffet and regular drinks.

    I trust the tickets will run out so fast but I hope I’ll get one for myself!

  • First Blood at Movenpick Hotel Beirut

    For those of you who are interested in mixed martial arts, an event called “First Blood” will be held at Mocenpick Hotel on December 15th, in which fighters from Russia, Canada, and Lebanon will be competing.

  • Discover Rmeil/Geitawi

    Rmeil will be a car-free area this Sunday November 4th and “Achrafieh 2020” is inviting everyone to discover it on foot, bicycle or roller/skateboard.

    There will be several activities throughout that day including the following:

    • 8.30 Running race
    • 9.15 cycling race
    • 10.30 Awards distribution
    • 11.30 Open air zumba class
    • 12.30 Open air yoga class – Bring your mat!
    • From 11am to 4.30pm Children activities in the Jesuits public garden
    • From 8:30am to 5pm: Artisans display
    • From 8:30am to 5pm: Garage sale
    • From 10am to 5pm: Souk el Tayeb eatery and artisans displays
    • From 1:00pm to 5:00pm: Bands playing live music on the stage next to Souk el Tayeb
    • From 9am to 5pm: Human space
    • From 8:30am to 5pm: Green zone in William Hawi’s public garden
    • From 8:30am to 4:00pm: Bicycles and Segway Rental
