  • Our Silliest Record Breaking Attempt to Date

    20160727_073915

Earlier last week, a friend told me that the organizers of BIAF (Beirut International Awards Festival) are planning to lay down the world’s longest red carpet as part of their 2-day event. The red carpet is expected to start somewhere in Hamra, then goes towards Achrafieh and all the way through downtown to Zaytouna Bay where the ceremony is taking place.

At first I was mainly concerned about the traffic jam this red carpet will be causing on a weekday. But after spotting parts of it on my way to work this morning, I think the traffic jam is absolutely not a problem compared to how hideous it looks!

The thing doesn’t qualify as a red carpet. It’s barely a piece of red cloth, and it seems that some genius decided to lay it down last night and cars eventually ended up tearing it down.

The end result is needless to say, bahdaleh. I wish all the money that was put into this silly attempt to make it into the Guinness Book was allocated for something more meaningful, like helping Rozine get that liver transplant maybe!

  • Abed Tahan Mother’s Day Ad Fail

    IMG_1629.JPG

Here’s what happens when your marketing department feels like it’s obligatory to capitalize on every single occasion regardless if your product or service actually relate to it or not, you’re guaranteed to look silly.

Nothing gets on my nerves as much as retailers promoting kitchen appliances and household items for mother’s day as gift ideas. Let alone pointing up that mommies actually desire food processors and fryers, it’s like Abed Tahan thinks of women as housekeepers only.

For this mother’s day, ignore these ads, and do your moms a favor by keeping them away from food processors!

  • Rudolph Hilal Rips Off The Ellen Show

    rudolph the show

Just when you thought Lebanese TV shows can’t any worse, comes Rudolph Hilal and rips off Ellen Degeneres Show. The whole thing even seems to be orchestrated with his guests since they were exactly imitating those who appeared with Ellen, and what’s more baffling is that he didn’t even make any effort to come up with a new show name!

I personally don’t watch Ellen and wouldn’t have known LBCI’s The Show is no more than a copy-cat, so hats off to whoever compiled this video!

  • Yeah right!

The ISF can forever claim that they have their “own ways” to stop these stupid motorbikers. But in fact nothing is being done that even 12 years old kids now do wheelies on the streets!

  • Al Jadeed News Fail – Hitler cheered in his grave for Germany’s win!

This is quite weird and awkward! Zeinab Abdel Sater and Jad Ghosn from Al Jadeed TV concluded their report about the world cup final game by stating that Hitler cheered in his grave for Germany’s win! (At the 1m50s mark)

They definitely need to have their reports reviewed before airing next time!

  • Fail – Rymco really values your thoughts

Can you believe big brands still make these faux pas online? Some social media “guru” must be running their account!

  • Fail – Lebanese will always be Lebanese

This is a photo from Venezuela. Some Lebanese shop owner there insists on displaying Nabih Berri’s photo on his shop sign for only god knows why!

  • Fight breaks out after Nejmeh – Akhaa Aley game

A fight broke out today following the game between Nejmeh and Akhaa Aley in Bhamdoun. I’m talking a wild guess that politics must have something to do with it!

That’s another proof why Lebanese Football is a big fail.

    Update:

Here’s a video of the fight posted by Al Jadeed.
