Celebrate Talents Instead of Making Stupid People Famous!

Bimbos and attention whores never fail to make an occasion pass without trying to garner followers and likes on their social media platforms, and for Christmas time, it was of course mandatory to pose in skimpy red outfits because you know… there’s no other way to celebrate such occasion!

However, and despite the fact that everybody talk negatively about these SM figures, you keep seeing their followers count constantly increasing due to all the publicity they get on social network and especially Facebook. It’s like people follow their pages to just see how bad the next videos/photos will be, which motivate page owners to fart more content and the whole thing eventually gets other bimbos to get jealous, create pages, and do the same!

Unfortunately, the biggest losers out of this become the talented artists who produce really good content but fail to get the exposure they deserve because people are too busy monitoring Rola Yammout’s activity on instagram!

Sevine and Azizat Beyrouth are the best examples of talents that are not getting the attention they really deserve, and my latest discovery today was a girl called “Carla Chamoun” who has a beautiful voice and some cool videos on One:Sixteen’s Facebook page, yet for some reason the number of view she gets is incomparable to that of other silly videos..!

Here are a couple of my favorite videos of her.

The likes of Carla, Sevine, and Azizat Beyrouth are the ones who deserve the serious exposure. I know it’s impossible to keep people from following the lives of star wannabes, but just try to make better decisions about the stuff that should be spread out on social networks.

Picadilly Theater – Hamra

Make sure to check these cool recent photos Al-Akhbar has published from inside the Picadilly theater in Hamra. This theater is most famous for hosting several performances by Fayrouz and Ziad El-Rahbani, but a fire unfortunately broke out in it back in the 90s and has been inactive ever since.

In an ideal world, someone would take the initiative to renovate the Picadilly and Zaid El-Rahbani would come back to it for a new performance! (One can always dream..)

Fayha Choir on Arabs’ Got Talent

Great performance by The Fayha Choir on Arab’s Got Yalent!

The FAYHA CHOIR, established since 2003, and conducted ever since by Maestro Barkev Taslakian, is sponsored by Safadi Foundation and Azm & Saada association. It supports the choir financially and morally, which helps it to improve and perform at its best, locally or internationally. The choir is composed of nearly 50 males and females members, from Tripoli and suburbs citizens, who represent the Lebanese population with all its religions, social, political, economical affiliations. The choir’s repertoire includes Lebanese, oriental, as well as French, English, Latin, Armenian and other songs. This diversity reflects the choir’s openness to the human heritage.

Thank you Nour!

Hamra Festival

Last night marked the start of Hamra festival lasting till Sunday featuring a lot of live performances across three stages near Vero Moda, Jack & Jones, and Starbucks.

The festival started on Friday at 5:45PM with a street parade that lasted till 7:30PM, but unfortunately I couldn’t manage to get there before 9:30PM which explains why I only got back with a couple of snapshots! You may check Sietske’s and Rawad’s blog posts who were there and took cool photos of the event.

What was remarkable though during the walk I took is the number of people who got furious at the street blocks, so a lot of them took the liberty to just move them away and invaded the festival premises with their cars. The photo below shows one of them, a taxi driver.

The program for today and tomorrow is loaded with live acts starting 5PM till midnight, so make sure to be there!
