Today’s sunset in Beirut

I couldn’t resist taking a photo of today’s sunset when I saw how colorful it was, and wishing I was out of the office somewhere near the sea with my DSLR.

November usually carries the best times to shoot sunsets in Lebanon, but unfortunately the sun sets so early at 4:30PM nowadays, leaving too few opportunities for employees like me who like shooting photos.

Park it like a douchebag

I took all of the below 4 photos at the Beirut Mall parking, and I really have not made any effort searching for these douchebags. I just parked my car and went straight to the elevator, so these were just the ones I encountered on my way!

First thing that came to my mind was this post from Body Wotwat! Seriously, بي يلي عطاكن دفتر سواقة @#$%

… and here’s a bonus photo I took earlier at ABC Achrafiyeh.

Derriere

I took the below photo while having a walk around Beirut Souks. Seriously, why would anyone want  to call his store “Derriere”? (Equivalent to “butt” in English) Imagine “طيز” being hanged above some place in Beirut, it would be something eh!

That’s the way aha aha, I Park it!

This is what happens when you do second and third row parking, you come to find your car in the middle of the road at the end of the day and sometimes disturbing the traffic flow.

Needless to say, some drivers are simply assholes and enjoy throwing their car anywhere. On the other hand, the number of cars in Beirut is way beyond the parking lots capacity in the city.

Overdoing the World Cup 2010 – V

I was surprised to see this image of a German flag with a Nazi swastika in the middle on Chroniques Beyrouthines blog a while ago. According to the author, the image was taken in Bteghrine. I would have understood if it was put there to make a political statement… but for the World Cup? Come on!

Flag with Nazi Swastika in Lebanon

Apparently Germany got irritated, and its foreign ministry protested to the Lebanese foreign ministry because of similar flags.

Bonjus

Bonjus

Few days ago I got to drink a Bonjus (aka Bonjiss) for the first time in 9 years! I salute them for preserving their original taste. It still feels like you’re having a chemical solution, but good nonetheless!

Victoria Beckham opening in Tarik Al-Jadida!

I came across this store while driving through Tarik Al-Jadida today. Apparently Victoria Beckham found it too expensive to rent a place in Downtown.

And check the small sign on top of the door

Wisdom on the fly

Trucks “distributing” wisdom in Lebanon are pretty funny, like this one I was stuck behind today.

Noah’s Ark? Seriously?

Saddam Hussein & Hassan Nasrallah at Virgin Megastore

I came across these 2 books at Virgin Megastore.

Le tresor de saddam

Rouge Liban objectif Hassan Nasrallah

1. “Le Trésor de Saddam:1 Les milliard de dollars au soleil!”

2. “Rouge Liban, Objectif: Hassan Nasrallah le chef du Hezbollah!”

I have no idea what the 2 books are about but it’s cool seeing the names of Saddam Hussein and Hassan Nasrallah associated with the cover photos!

P.S: I hope this post will not cause a rage in the streets soon.
