Little do people know that May El-Khalil was motivated to start the Beirut marathon after she had a near-death experience and was told that she will not be able to run again. Check out this TED Talk she gave at TEDGlobal back in June 2013 talking about her experience with Beirut Marathon. She’s one inspiring woman for sure.
A total of 47 short films from 21 different countries will be presented to the public during this three day event, with free entrance for everyone. The festival program is available here if you’re interested.
