Believe it or not, Playboy interviewed Walid Jounblat in their July 1984 issue! But no he did not appear naked (did I disppoint you?).
I’ve seen the cover a while ago and was checking if I can read the interview somewhere online, until I found it on the Ouwet blog.

P.S: I think it would be nice if the parliamentary candidates for 2009 published their electoral program in the next issue of Playboy, that includes Hizbullah, Al-A7bash & Al-Jama3a Al-Islamiyya candidates.

Wow I can’t believe how long that interview was!
I read this last night, It was quite long and very interesting. I find it quite interesting reading interviews retrospectively, especially seeing how his predictions wound up 25 years on. America was not overtaken by the hispanics, but insightful that he noticed their presence back then; as they are now the second largest ethnic group in the States, yes larger than African Americans! Jumblatt is quite a character, he flips and flops but has the upperhand over the interviewer – sounds similar to his last 25 years as a politician in Lebanon!

Thanks for posting. I look forward to reading! I can also see why someone would take issue with the last sentence. I know it’s a joke, but suggesting pious parties get published in Playboy is a bit like suggesting Christian parties get published in an Islamist magazine. Would that be funny too? Not really. Sometimes it helps to imagine things reversed. Just a (well-meaning) suggestion!
